No Answer to the Why

Hi all! I made it! Thirty three straight days of working and today I finally had the opportunity to take a deep breath. We celebrated my birthday on Friday evening with a BBQ at a friend's house. Nick made the best rainbow cake ever (and his layers stayed separate!) and a friend I've known since third grade is here visiting.

As far as the adoption front, I don't want to jinx us, but we may just be moving in the right direction. Don't get too excited yet, there are still a lot of unknowns. For one of the first times, though, we feel like there is someone working on moving our case forward. This weekend is a big one for us; perhaps a pivotal one.

We get asked all the time, when is she coming home? We don't know. We still don't know. Someone linked to this article on Facebook and I really appreciate the diplomatic aspects of adoption it touches on. Perhaps reading it will give you an idea of just why we don't know.

Nick and I both appreciate your continued prayers through this journey! Hope you all had as wonderful a weekend as we did here!

  1. I just read the article about international adoption. So much paperwork and bureaucracy, so many politics...and all at the expense of the children and the families who want to give them a loving, forever home. I hope this can change...and soon. Meanwhile I continue to pray for the two of you and your daughter, my granddaughter. Love you both.
